CI Day School Summer Extension
Program & Therapeutic Services
Reported in the research-based literature, documentation
exists that most students lose skills over the summer
break, and every school year must begin with weeks
of review. When you take into account the population
of our students who often struggle with memory, retrieval,
and the organization of information, the lack of practice
and use of newly learned skills may often have an
even greater impact.
To help our students continue to learn and progress
in their development, Cyzner Institute offers a 6-
and 7-week Extended School Year program for current
CI students as well as for new families*. While we
integrate summer fun activities, the program is essentially
a continuation of what we offer during the CI Day
School academic year (individualized educational programming
layered with therapy). Therapeutic
Services including ABA Therapy and Tutoring, OT,
Speech-Language, and Music will also be available
and can be scheduled separately.
Summer programming starts the week of June 16th (CI
will be closed the week of June 8th). The school week
runs Monday-Thursday; we will be closed on Fridays.
Summer hours are 9am-1pm (no early care will be provided,
but After-care will be available up until 4pm on school
days). Contact Tracey Luna @ 704-366-8260 with
any questions and to request additional information,
forms, and dates.
*For new summer students, a visit and placement test
will need to be completed to ensure candidacy; results
should be submitted along with application by April
