Afterschool Enrichment

Our afterschool enrichment programs encompass a variety of services and activities to enhance students’ social and extracurricular experiences. For those children already attending the CI Day School program, afterschool enrichment programs include: Games Group, Social Skills Group, Recreational Therapy Group, and Creative Arts – including visual arts, music, drama, and creative movement. Before school (early care) and afterschool (afternoon care) are also offered for those students and families who need to access these services. Please note that certain groups and classes are only run if we achieve the minimum number of participants.

Our Creative Arts and Social Skills Group programming is open to both CI Day School students and children from the community. These afterschool enrichment programs provide a unique and enjoyable way to facilitate social-communication and/or to support sensory-based needs and can also help to support relationship-based intervention. Children learn to interact successfully with others, including waiting their turn, sharing, and communicating their desires and needs to other children and adults. Group and individual sessions are available depending upon age, interests, and needs.

Additional afterschool options are available for our students and the community-at-large. You can read more about ABA, OT, Speech-Language, and our Creative Arts program under the Therapeutic Services section of our website. Tutoring is available for elementary and middle school students depending upon content area. The staff-child ratio is 1:1 allowing us to customize instruction for maximum progress. Teachers and staff follow a program, tracking each child’s responses and skill proficiency. They meet with the Director and/or Clinical Director / BCBA and Assistant to the Clinical Director / BCBA to review instructional plans and adjust as needed.
